What We’re Up To!

Kathy Kluth, RE Coordinator

Have you noticed some changes in activities for our children? We are growing in numbers and activities for more ages.

K-4th graders meet in the RE room 2-3 times a month with myself and other teachers. Peacemaking is the theme of the first third of our year. In October and November the students are putting their self-portraits on the RE room door, adding wishes to the class dream catcher, making collages of their summer and fall activities (the summer ones are up in the conference room). A list of RE and Youth Group plans for the month is posted to the left of the RE room door.

The Youth Group (grades 5-8) is coordinated by Mera Colling. They meet twice a month with a theme of religious groups. On September 30 they took a trip to meet kids who attend a UU fellowship in Hanska , MN. Take-off time was 8am. Kids arrived early to enjoy hot cocoa and juice and anticipate the adventure. Three vans of children and adults drove southwest and enjoyed a great visit. The Youth Group kickoff party on October 13th at Huehn’s was a great way to start what promises to be a very fun and educational Youth Group year. We are growing in participation by children and adults. How wonderful!

Take a deep breath and good wishes as we prepare for our coming months of holiday times.
